J. Christine Dean, MD
Neurologist
Medical Director

Dr. Christine Dean, neurologist Dr. J. Christine Dean is the medical director and chief executive officer of the Institute. She is in charge of the day-to-day medical operations at the Institute. She, together with the late great Dr. Kiffin Penry (pioneer in modern epilepsy treatment), founded the Institute in 1989. She also holds an master's degree in biochemistry from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Dean lectures frequently and has lectured in Europe. She also publishes regularly. Her reputation attracts research drug study grants from major pharmaceutical companies. In addition, she attends patients at the Institute in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on a daily basis, on-call 24 hours a day.

Cindy Allen, RN
Registered Nurse

Cindy's nursing skills, smile, and even temperament have played a large role in maintaining patient health and good humor here at the Institute. Her 21 years of nursing experience have spanned a spectrum of patient care. Her roles have extended from nursing home care to hospital work in orthopedics and rehabilitation.

One of Cindy's greatest assets have been her ability to relate well to other patients and to work long, tireless hours fielding patient questions concerning a myriad of matters. In addition, she makes certain that all patients are well informed of the medical director's care recommendations before they leave our offices. Our patients and staff are blessed to have Cindy in our lives.

Daryl Jones, R. EEG T.
Neurodiagnostic Test Administrator

Daryl Jones is in charge of our Electroneurodiagnostic Department. In addition to a high degree of skill in the administration of Electroencepholographic tests, he also provides nerve conduction studies, visual evoked potentials, and brainstem auditory evoked potentials.
