Epilepsy Institute of North Carolina

Patient Assistance

Tom Beck
Administrative Director

Tom Beck Tom has become an invaluable asset to the Institute and its patients. His knowledge of insurance billing practices allows our patients to obtain the most coverage possible from their insurance carriers. His career path to the Institute has been appropriately replete with increasingly responsible managerial and insurance billing experience. He began his career with a major national corporation. He eventually rose to Vice Presidency in this specialty steel service center, devoting 31 years to the company.

With the benefit of this experience, Tom finally founded his own enterprise in the rapidly expanding insurance billing business. There, he became an expert in the payment practices of the myriad of HMO's and private insurers. When he assumed administrative and billing responsibilities at the Institute, therefore, Tom added an essential component to the team approach here: medical insurance expertise at the service of our patients.

His financial acumen has also played an important role at the heart of our public service obligation: the accumulation of funds necessary for the sustenance of our indigent program. No one is rejected for lack of funds. The financial solvency required to offer this service has been provided by Tom's fine work.
